how much will it cost?

Eye examinations are usually paid for by the NHS in Scotland.

Supplementary tests are also paid for when there is an optometric need

The NHS will pay some or all costs of childrens spectacles when there is an optometric need. It will also pay for eligible groups of adults.
It will not pay when it is a cognitive problem
Costs therfore vary between free and £120

Most other test are free but we do charge for

Reports if required - these vary from £75 for a simple report to £500 for a full legal report.
Educational reports for school can usually be charged to the LEA and are £150

Spectacles and contact lens prices are competitive - although we do not try to be the cheapest - we spend so much more time than others that it a choice that you have to make - reduce cost by a small amount, or professional time

Integration with auditory system may require CDs - there is a charge
Hypnosis may also incur further charges
